SU2C Stories

After losing their brother Jason to cancer at the young age of 30, Joel and Jeremy Nino became determined to find away to honor his memory and help others in the process. “Jason loved to play Pokémon, so we decided that, in his honor, we were going to become the best Pokémon players on Twitch,” shares Joel.

This year, on the anniversary of their brother’s passing, they joined the SU2C Stream Team and hosted a 60-hour fundraising stream in honor of Jason. Both Joel and Jeremy loved hosting their charity stream with SU2C because it gave them a chance to honor their brother’s memory and raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

“It was the largest charity stream we’ve ever done, and it was touching to see the support from the gaming community,” says Jeremy. “We know first-hand what it’s like to lose someone to cancer; so now we’re standing up to give those we’ve lost a voice and to bring awareness to the importance of cancer research and clinical trials that are paving the way for a future with more survivors in it.”
